3.1 Therapeutic Model - Social Inclusion - Under Review |
The aim of our inclusion policy is to ensure that all young people have equal rights and the opportunity to access and participate in everyday living within their communities.
Young people in our care share commonalities their journey through care has meant that they have often felt unheard and unsafe.
Our service in inclusive which means we listen to young people and demonstrate respect that they deserve to participate in the decision making process.
Young people are socially excluded when they have no positive recognition from the members within their communities; exclusion from society is harmful and can have a detrimental affect upon individuals self worth and their economic value.
There are often multiple factors that lead to social exclusion for our young people we therefore support individuals to overcome the difficulties specific to them caused by inequality and disadvantage.
We believe in positive action to effect change we encourage young people to become active members within their communities we place a high value on their education and work alongside education professionals to enhance and broaden their skills and knowledge we encourage others to adapt their service as we do to promote inclusion and respect individuality where possible.
We encourage young people to join local recreation groups and team activities integration is at the heart of our inclusion policy regardless of any difference.
